This is a black and white photo of a ferry underway through a harbour with a row of apartment building in the background. Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong (2015).

The grey harbour water rises up about one-third in the image with small ripples disturbing the surface. Half way across the harbour is a medium sized passenger ferry, perhaps 20m long, underway from right to left .The bow being slightly to the left of centre, the stern near the right margin of the photo. The ferry has a black hull and a white superstructure with two decks that are packed with people. On the bow are the letters 'SINGWAY No.12' and some Chinese characters. In the background are a row of connected high-rise, densely packed and uniform apartment blocks with about twenty-five floors in view. These blocks stretch from the left to the right margins, filling the entire background. The wide block or blocks on the left are elevated above the water by say five metres and rest on large concrete pillars. The blocks or blocks on the right are set back a short distance from the harbour. Stretching across the front of these buildings is an elevated roadway, that again, runs from one side to the other.

The location: Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong. The ferry, I think, is carrying locals from the pier at Tsim Sha Tsui to one of the casino ships that sails outside territorial waters to allow those Hongkongers little flutter at the tables. The buildings are on the Fortress Hill waterfront.
