a black backed stilt - bird with long beak, black wings and back, and white body, very long red legs. it is in water and hunting for food, and you can see reflection. there's a small land in the back.

Welp I couldn't wait any more so I got it done early. #BirdButt upgraded to 4.5.0!

Went fine for the most part!
Only one little undocumented hangup but following the suggestion/comment it spat out actually did fix it and not make things worse.

(ruby-build: definition not found: 3.4.7)
(to fix it: git -C ~/.rbenv/plugins/ruby-build pull) (and then re-running the previous failed line)

@TheGemini the official chair for #BirdButt and this instance, lol.

Masto 4.4.7 -> 4.4.8 upgrade done.

Friendly reminder from the MastoAdmin for #BirdButt:

I *cannot* be assed to be snooping around folk’s private shit.
Nor anything else in the DB, that I shouldn't be seeing, (or even should be seeing). I do everything officially/manually through Masto's official admin dashboard. It's pain but I manage.

No idea about LargerFurryInstances™ but I would presume/hope the same as well.

Wish there was some term for that or way to tell that being done but 🤷 got my word anyway.

a tiny bird perched on the branch and looking down, so you can see its stomach and butt. you see it has a very small tail. it's holding a green vine in its beak.

the same bird with the now untangled wine in its beak and looking in front. there is a lot of green behind it.

the bird is still trying to get a handle on the wine and doing some kind of bird kung fu to show it who the real boss is.

now it's sitting quite proud of its work, moments before it flew away with the vine.

With only a couple days to spare (before Sendgrid's free plan ending), got the #BirdButt masto instance swapped over to a different SMTP provider!

Was trying to use mailgun as some others had suggested but wasn't liking how I couldn't just use three CNAME records like I could before, and was already familiar w/another alternate that worked that way as well so went w/them instead.

Now I have to remember what other services I was hosting that were also sending, edit: oh good I have *some* notes.
