I have spent a handful of years trying to grow my body. I realise now that I will never feel "big enough" for multiple reasons. One, the lifestyle it would take to sustain would be unhealthy for me, both mentally and physically. Two, I realised I had come to associate my very proportions with being inadequate and unattractive. Having long, slender limbs, for example.
I therefore invite you to see my musculature (such as it is) as an armor of scars, an outward sign of an inward feeling of inadequacy.
Now, rather than trying to become "big enough", I am working on undermining the belief that there was anything wrong with my body to begin with. My body has and will change over the years, and I want to embrace and respect it however it looks or performs.
Being bigger, smaller, thinner, thicker, fitter, more lean or muscular does not make you a better (or worse) person, more (or less) ttractive, or more (or less) deserving of love.
Hierarchising bodies will not do.

To be able to be a full human being, not a robot working almost without cease, involves all the emotions + all the postures that each person's body is capable of adopting.
To be at ease, not as concerned with a boss's clock, with bosses + would-be bosses clocking you + branding you: lollygagging, woolgathering, shirking, sunbathing, or frolicking, etc.

Eigentlich bin ich eine starke Verfechterin der #BodyNeutrality. Du musst ja nicht jedes neue Fettpölsterchen gleich lieben, aber lächelnd schulterzuckend akzeptieren kannst du es.
Heute ist allerdings mal wieder einer dieser Tage, an denen ich meinen Körper ob Optik und insbesondere mangelnder Funktion fast schon hasse.

You can't compare "obesity" to "smoking" or "cigarettes." One is a body shape. The others are an action and a product respectively. You could arguably compare certain types of food to cigarettes but even then, all food has *some* nutritional benefit, whereas there is no safe amount of smoking.
