There are many, many more but I just got tired of typing hashtags. See Legacy Museum, Montgomery, Ala., for a more complete list of crap decisions

The decision didn’t just pick the president—it also, in installing George W. Bush, allowed him to reshape #SCOTUS. As younger lawyers, 3 of the current #GOP-appointed justices aided Bush’s Florida legal team in the run up to #BushVGore [#AmyConeyBarrett, #JohnRoberts & #BrettKavanaugh]. Another, #ClarenceThomas, was part of the decision’s majority.

In Aug, #SCOTUS used its #ShadowDocket to allow #Arizona, a key swing state, to require proof of citizenship w/ voter registration forms at the request of the #RNC.

But perhaps least known—& yet, most important—was #MooreVHarper, a 2023 ruling in which the court set the stage for the next #BushVGore scenario by holding that the justices themselves would have THE LAST SAY when it comes to questions over state-level #election rules & disputes.

@Jerry they could also have taken it up and decided in 3 days #BushVGore

Following up on my Keith Olbermann Podcast post about #RobertHur, #MerrickGarland and our micro managers at the #SCOTUS, here's more valid rage, this from #JeffTiedrich

One addendum on the #14thAmendemnt hearing yesterday - it was said, one state shouldn't be able to determine the election.

I'll venture Al Gore would have a good *laugh* on that one! #BushvGore

Here at home there have been...several cans repeatedly kicked down the road , like the return to full time writing/blogging and site expansion. Alas the #Youtube channel. That though while an unexpected abundance of research work keeps the lights comfortably on. Music work never stops and fellow musos are a constant source of joy. World at large has been farked for long time now- pretty much since #BushvGore. No surprise there

This Supreme Court’s 'Bush v. Gore' moment has arrived

Is the United States Supreme Court really a court in the strict sense of the term? Or is it a political council that yields to the ideologies of its nine unelected members? That’s the overriding question as the high tribunal reviews the Colorado Supreme Court’s ruling in Anderson v. Griswold, which disqualifies Donald Trump from appearing on that state’s presidential primary ballot under the insurrection clause (Section Three) of the 14th Amendment.

Courts are supposed to adjudicate issues based on the facts and the applicable law, without “fear or favor,” as the cliché goes. Political bodies, by contrast, decide issues on the basis of favored outcomes. The U.S. Supreme Court clearly falls into the latter category.

No decision in recent history revealed the political nature of the Supreme Court more starkly than its 2000 ruling in Bush v. Gore, which handed the presidency to George W. Bush. Anderson v. Griswold promises to follow in Bush v. Gore’s footsteps.

US Supreme Court discussion of student loans yesterday featured "conservative" Judges explaining why a law passed by Congress was *wrong* and *unfair* in their minds, which apparently allows them to block its use. This is not a discussion compatible with the US , but neither was was decision.
