Two #SNCF 🇫🇷 “broken nose design” locomotives: pictured here are a #CC6500 electric and a #CC72000 diesel, both in the green livery (and with the numbering) of #SNCF’s cargo division. Picture taken in the early 2000s at Vénissieux, east of Lyon, if I remember well.

On this photo, taken in the early 2000s at #Modane, we see an #SNCF #CC6500 “nez cassés” electric, ready to haul a “super peak” winter holiday service. The train is composed of bi-level commuter cars with high density seating, which “Rhône-Alpes” had borrowed from another region.

#SNCF 🇫🇷 #CC6500 electrics used to haul the most prestigious trains from Paris to Marseille, Toulouse and Bordeaux, among others. They finished their careers on local services around Lyon. Pictured here is #CC6558

A somewhat odd looking - yet very charming - consist is seen here at #Lyon 🇫🇷 #Perrache in December 2004: an #SNCF #Z7100 pair (a self propelled unit and the matching trailer) being hauled by a #CC6500 electric. I ignore whether that was a revenue-earning working or one heading for the workshops.

Je fais de la #vidéo, #captation en direct, pour le #SpectacleVivant surtout, et un peu de régie. J'aime bien bricoler pour faire mieux avec pas grand chose, construire une maison/atelier dans mon #Duster, j'aime bien les #trains (je bricole des #CC6500).
À #Lyon et dans l'Ouest Lyonnais.
Souvent support technique/logistique/chauffeur sur des projets militants/politiques intersectionnels.

August 1985, while on an #InterRail tour: my first ever photo of an #SNCF 🇫🇷 #CC6500 - and my first trip on a train worked by one of these six-axle classics: from #Chambery with the #Lyon to #Milan #MontCenis. Behind the CC6552 two #FS 1st class compartment cars, followed by #SNCF #Corail 2nd class coaches.

My favourite #SNCF 🇫🇷 loco: the #CC6500 DC electrics with their #NezCassés design. At the end of their career they worked “super peak” weekend services to the ski resorts in the French Alps, like the train on my photo taken in the early 2000s at #Lyon Part-Dieu.
