#ebay spent OVER 600 DAYS REFUSING TO BARGAIN in good faith with the #CWAUnion.
When they ran out of underhanded tactics to avoid paying their employees a basic living wage, they detonated the entire location, disrupting over 220 lives. Many of those affected, including my friends, belong to marginalized groups already struggling just to safely EXIST in trump's authoritarian government.
Per CWA’s statement; eBay CEO Jamie Iannone’s total compensation was $21 million in 2024, which is 536 times the median annual wage for a #TCGunionCWA member in #SyracuseNY. Iannone’s compensation has also increased 48% since 2022, the year that #TCGplayer workers formed their union.
I won't mince words, if I haven't been crystal fucking clear: I am FIRMLY Pro-Union. I highly doubt ebay simply volunteered to offer fired employees fully paid COBRA/health benefits for four months, and ten weeks of pay. That's almost certainly thanks to the #Union.
I've had an active eBay account since the early 2000s. When time permits, I'm going to be removing all listings indefinitely.
