Intro time!

This isn't my first venture into the fedi, but is the first account devoted mainly to my passion of magic, especially gambling demos and illusions with cards, but also anything related to sleight-of-hand, misdirection and the deceptive arts more generally.

Whatever can be done with criminal intent can also be done to entertain - from pickpocketing to escapology, confidence scams to faking "supernatural" powers.

Me: my teen’s pretty self-sufficient these days and would rather stream with friends than spend time with his parents anyway, I should still be able to get plenty of work done over the school holidays

My teen: apparently deciding to memorise every single card trick on YouTube and perform them for me roughly every 15 minutes.

(On the plus side, the tricks are really freaking good)

I guess #evangelicals still hate magic as there was a video where they're mad about magic in Disney movies and think it's some conspiracy when #Disney just wants money. Weird. #Magic is cool and fun. They've been on about it at least since I was 9. My school I went to then probably would've banned #MagicTreeHouse. #CardTricks that involve stuff like trick decks and/or keeping a card at a known place with a finger and doing fake shuffles that look real...
