#Carnivore2+ announced. A revised version of the popular flash cartridge for #MSX by RBSC. It introduces many small improvements such as multiple firmware versions (to support multiple sound chip configurations, MSX Music, SCC, SFG, more to come) and a better DAC. But to me the highlights are the added Micro SD card slot (and keeping the existing CF slot!) plus the option to flash firmware via the system itself; no longer tied to having use a USB Blaster!

#retrogaming ho appena finito di riparare una cartuccia #Msx #carnivore2 con un connettore compact flash distrutto. La cartuccia l'ho comprata sotto COVID per 20 euro contro il 140 di valore di mercato proprio perche aveva il connettore in questo stato. Non è stato facile affatto... il connettore di ricambio non è standard ed ho dovuto dissaldato da un adattatore IDE->CF cinese. Come se non bastasse la piazzola di massa era saltata ... Alla fine però è venuto fuori un bel lavoro ..full working!

FWIW, indeed I got the Hi-Tech C compiler working on #MSX-DOS2 on actual hardware, using a #Carnivore2 cart. But let's say I don't like much how the CC.COM compiler driver for MSX works and I kind of starting writing a new one after checking its code (it's a C program itself, after all!), picking some ideas from it, trying to make it run on CP/M (or at least the subset emulated by ZXCC).

That is the rabbit hole I got into, which explains why I haven't been posting more #AdventOfCode solutions.

Just in time for the holidays #Carnivore2 #MSX #retro Might be stupidly expensive, but is apparently worth it. We'll see about that 😅
