We visited the Chapel of the Holy Cross in Sedona AZ today. The gift shop may have been larger than the chapel.

This stood out.

The Chapel of the Holy Cross was built into the side of a butte near Sedona, Arizona, located within the Coconino National Forest. Construction was finished in 1956 and the Chapel continues to hold services on Wednesday and Friday, with a special service on Monday, operating under the auspices of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix. The gift shop is open daily.
The Chapel is a dramatic structure to see from afar and up close.

M-m-m-my Sedona! A place beyond…

There are few places that instantly endear themselves into your heart and will forever be imprinted within your mind. Sedona, Arizona is absolutely one of those places..

Sunset from Tabletop Mesa looking north towards Capital Butte

Gorgeous natural beauty greets the visitor in every direction with dazzling red rock formations framed by a rugged multilayered geological terrain and verdant high desert plant life. All are set beneath a brilliant azure sky. M-m-m-my Sedona!

Canyons, arroyos, peaks, mesas, outcroppings, rocky spires, bluffs, cliffs and other geological wonders are adorned with evergreen forests. M-m-m-my Sedona is truly an earthly Eden.

Then throw in an incredible Uptown shopping and entertainment district that is an urban planner’s utopian design dream come true. It beautiful, functional, tasteful and especially people/pedestrian friendly.

Add to that multiple hundreds of miles of equestrian, hiking and/or biking trails, superb dining and lodging, a plethora of cultural options, and a wide-ranging and organic spiritual essence that celebrates the diversity of multiple metaphysical belief systems.

Within the first 24 hours we experienced the many metaphysical facets of Sedona’s soul. We witnessed a red rock sunset at a cosmic vortex, basked in the golden embrace of a sunlit mountaintop, marveled at the wondrous Chapel of the Holy Cross, found solace at the Amitabha Stupa along the meditative whispers of the surrounding Peace Park, and walked a labyrinth in quiet contemplation. Sedona, unlike any place I’ve known, is a symphony of serenity. Here, the raw power of nature and the transcendental vibe weave an undeniable tapestry of mindfulness and peace.

Throughout this post are just a few images from what may be the most beautiful and motivational physical setting for any city in the United States. Simply put, M-m-m-my Sedona has “The Knack” for being a place beyond…

Peace!

Outstanding natural vistas are commonplace in and around M-m-m-my Sedona.
