Your encounter with your correspondent is far from unusual. I’ve recently been called for jury duty. I discovered today that not only that a link to the court’s covid policy no longer appears in the website’s faq, but the policy hasn’t been updated for more than a year.
Now that doesn’t mean their precautions are inadequate, but in light of the current surge in cases, I was surprised there no mention in the faq.
Yet another proof how insidious is complacency.
I just went to Duane Reade and had a flu shot in my left arm and a covid booster in my right arm. Now I’ll sit quietly for a while and see which side of my body has better 5G reception.
@abbynormative I took my car in this morning for snow tires. I decided to wait in the large, fairly, well ventilated chairs area. At 70, I was probably the youngest customer by quite a bit. I was also the sole masked person. There are multiple facility wide outbreaks in our city. No one was rude to me, but I got plenty of confused looks. If they had asked, I would have told them I am just trying to live a normal life while protecting my 92 year old Mom & husband with heart disease. #covidnotover
This doctor was infected
twice with Covid in 4 weeks.
The same happened to me- 5 weeks apart.
To my son.
To several of my doctor friends.
We are in a new phase of COVID-19- tens of subvariants circulating-different enough to be infected with more than one at once.

"Woven together with the evidence amassed thus far on the scale and breadth of organ dysfunction in Long COVID, the findings in this report call for the urgent need to develop strategies to prevent and treat the post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection."
My son in law is living and working here now .Made this as part of a lunch that was supposed to take place today.
Unfortunately he was exposed to Covid and is self isolating.

XBB.1.5 is concerning. However BF.7 in China is extremely concerning causing white lung X-Rays we haven't seen since Delta.
