Echo Zines is a creative project by Nina Zina (she/they) that is based in Belgium. As Echo Zines, Nina produces zines, postcards, stickers, buttons, and spell bags (and she plays in the feminist witch punk band Lavender Witch!). The witch zines that Nina makes talk about herbal magic, amulets, self-love potions, mundane witchcraft, and personal reflections about skeptical witchery. Echo Zines’ stickers and buttons feature sigils for self-empowerment and for queer, anti-racist, and accessibility activism, and the postcards depict witches in various settings. Witches’ Brew 19: Creativity Talisman

This mini-zine printed on red paper was made during a virtual zine workshop led by Alex Wrekk of the Critical Thinking Witch Con. The pages were inspired by prompts Alex picked from Molly Roberts’ Art Magick Oracle. I very much enjoyed this spontaneous zine creating and decided to print what I made as an issue of Witches’ Brew. On the inside poster you can find more info about the virtual event and my creativity talismans.

Witches’ Brew 20: Spells & Crafts

Issue number 20 of Witches’ Brew is a bigger and more personal issue that acts like a kind of spell book or as background information on my witchcraft practice. I talk about what I enjoy and what I avoid. My ongoing witch journey is also documented inside its pages, with places I visited, how many tarot practice is evolving, and more.

Queer Quest 3: Dice Divination for Sea Side Exploration

At the start of the Summer I had the opportunity to go to Zinekabine, a monthly zine-making event organised by 2 zinesters in Mechelen. The theme of this edition was “sea treasures” and I turned my mini-zine into a game zine, the third issue of Queer Quest, to play while visiting the sea or the ocean.

You’re Invited: a Bunny Birthday Zine

When Chainsaw Bunny celebrated her birthday in August, we collaborated on this mini-zine. The zine reveals what a bunny birthday looks and you’re invited to take a look inside its pages. Bonus surprise: when opened up there is a poster of Chainsaw Bunny’s birthday party.

Through their Echo Zines creative project, Nina Zina produces (witchy) zines, postcards, and stickers. The zines talk about things like herbalism, amulets, music as magic, and mundane witchery. Nina sews spell bags with natural and repurposed ingredients for self-care and community care and enjoys sigil design, magical artjournaling, and cartomancy.
