Today I took part in my first discus competition (not something I ever thought I would say). Achieved my modest goal of “legal throw, outside the discus cage” despite it blowing an absolute hoolie in Aberdeen this morning.

I had Mbuna's for while but they were too violent. Switched to Peacocks and was much better but the society eventually descended into violence and intimidation.
Now we have #discus and couldn't be happier.

Flavor Flav garnered headlines last week for his sponsorship of the U.S. women's water polo team, and now he's helping out track and field athlete Veronica Fraley. Fraley, a discus thrower and student at Vanderbilt University, wrote on X that in spite of representing her country in her sport, she's unable to pay rent, while her school will "pay football players (who haven’t won anything 😂) enough to buy new cars and houses." The apple doesn’t fall to far from the tree as Mykolas Alekna launches a big #discus toss. He still doesn’t hold the family record as dad Virgilius, two time Olympic champ, holds that mark at 73.88m
All that said, Mykolas is only 22 which is very early days in the world of discus throwing. He might be the guy to take down the oldest WR on the books which is held by Juergen Schult at 74.08 and has stood since 1986
