Brown Cow Hill from Corgarff Castle in Aberdeenshire with Moray yesterday. Sounds an unimaginative name, until you remember that many of the Gaelic hill names – Black Hill, White Hill, Grey Hill, Red Hill, Big Hill, Small Hill – aren’t exactly inspiring.
We did have some wildlife encounters – a mountain hare very visible still in its winter coat, and a few red grouse – which were great to see.

It’s nice to be reminded,, even under horrible circumstances, good people still surround us.
Maybe it’s more important to be mindful of it now.

Today, I was reminded strangers are people I haven’t met yet.

We needed a ride to the vet, Dani and I. Desperately.
My ill son in law couldn’t take us.
I was reduced to asking for the kindness of strangers.
We made it to the vets.

Thank you, Next Door, the app we love to hate.
Thank you, to my neighbors.

Scaffolders have arrived!
Same crew as yesterday so they should have it all done in a few hours. Yay!

I have also turned Mum's bedroom door around to suit the light switch.
We reversed the door when Dad was ill as it made it easier to get to his side of the bed to pick him up off the floor when he fell over.

I have been cutting out the insides of the DeWalt tool case, that's a thankless task, but it makes the case useful, at least.

Right, time for a bit of lunch before I get on with the next thing.

So I've been playing with Be my AI on the PC to recognize pictures, and found one of the two dogs we had to rehomewhen we moved after Mike died. The German Shepherd is named Jasmine, and she's the one we called blanket because her favourite place was in my lap and she was big enough to be a blanket. Coda was the other dog. she was pretty young at this point. I miss them both soo much! #DogsOf mastodon

I had to carry Rosie in from the last outside venture. She thought her feet were frozen.

I ordered boots for both puppers. The odds they’ll wear them? Probably slim to none… but we’ll try it.

Tomorrow is supposed to be warmer. Can’t wait!

Rosie, the small, tan dog, is laying in front of the bedroom window. It’s a south-facing window so I have the blinds open to catch the warmth of the sun. Rosie is right in front of the heat vent so she’s getting double warm. Kinda hogging the vent and that’s usually Samantha the cat’s job.

My name is Moose, and my mama tells me I'm a bad boy because I go behind the garage and eat grass, then I have problems going potty. I woof at her and tell her that she used to smoke behind her daddy's shed with her friends so what's the big deal. She tells me she's the mama and what she says go. I don't think that's right. sigh.

My boy, Lion. Not the best photo but it’s hard to find the right one to load!

We've spent four years trying to convince our dog not to launch into a bout of hysterical barking whenever something makes a noise within a kilometre radius of our house. Last night I had a bike stolen from the shed at the bottom of the garden without him making a sound. A win of sorts, I guess.
