It can sometimes get things right at a granular/local level - as I found when on a visit to study the #hospitalforspecialsurgery in #newyork twenty three years ago That particular piece of learning influenced the development of the #southwestlondonelectiveorthopediccentre at #epsom - something of a success for the #nhs.

Thanks to the man walking his dog who pointed out a shoal of fish in the Hogsmill river this morning. I've walked by the river many times but never spotted any fish before. And these were big - roughly 8 inches long - not the minnows I'd expect.

AUCKLAND, 23rd July.
An eight-roomed residence at #Epsom, owned and occupied by Mrs. A. B. Wilson, was extensively damaged by fire last night. Three rooms were gutted, and a good deal of furniture destroyed. The cause was an electric iron left on a table with the power switched on. The insurance on the house and furniture is £550 [ca $67,000 today].

It's a CUP seat, where the Liberals and then Liberal Democrats have mostly been the ones coming 2nd since the creation of the constituency in 1974.
There are no Green or Liberal Democrat people on tonight's #BBCQT panel. A director and shareholder of Reform U.K. Ltd is, though.
