Thank you for making FIRST robotics a fantastic community. We will miss your presence, and all that you bring to your teams. Wherever your path takes you, we wish you best of luck. As new students step up to take your place, we hope to make you proud. You have worked to make this such an amazing community. Tried looking up how much an RSL was. 57 dollars???
I'm wanting to make a cool hard hat, and was thinking of doing something #frc like. At worlds someone had a blinking RSL on their hat, which I found hilarious. I was thinking of making our robot but mini, but weight and cost may prove to be a challenge.
After a bit of a break since the main competition season, we're at #WPI this weekend for an off-season #FIRSTRobotics competition. A good excuse for the students to visit the campus as well. GO OVERDRIVE #8410!

Part 1 of my #FRC Worlds recap:
Wow! That was a lot! My team did fantastic, we were the second pick of an alliance, and though we lost, we lost by getting outscored. There couldn't have been a better way to go out, and all the seniors were very happy. We had the 4th toughest match schedule in our division, but ended up about 30th after Quals. We were with #359, the Hawiian Kids, #3339 BumbleB, and #1714 MORE Robotics. Thanks y'all, you were great teams to work with! Hope you had fun!
The Journey:
We left Tuesday morning to fly out. Our team split up onto two planes, and unfortunately all of my close friends were on the other plane. Southwest had a delay yet again. (Huh, wonder if they should have learned anything from December!) My group was planning to land in Denver, then go to Houston, but at Denver we went to Austin then Houston so we could get in before midnight. It was a nice thought, but we ended up waiting 3 hours for rental cars anyways, so it didn't make much difference. We had 2 Airbnb's (I'll go rant about *that* later.) because all the hotels were claimed. We were only 10 minutes from the venue though, which was nice in the mornings.
If I were to set up an instance targeted towards FRC students, mentors, and teams, would there be interest? I feel it would be a really cool thing to do, especially as it seems like there's not a lot of robotics going on #onhere

I guess what I'm trying to say is FIRST gives us the opportunity to meet so many fantastic people. That would have just been anther person on the plane. So many people stop to talk with us, and it's astonishing to find out how many people are excited about robots, and how many people were in FIRST.
SERT 2521 is going to Worlds, and we need help to get there! It's expensive to get a robot and a team to Houston, but it's an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Any donations are appreciated!

I have now picked a lock using a button. It took probably 10 minutes and the lock was easy to pick with real tools, but it's still pretty cool. I've also taught 10+ robotics kids (and one awesome adult!) the basics of how a lock works and how to pick a few!
TIL: one of the robotics mentors worked for a “armored car company” (mob) for a few years.
Another one worked for Vernier for a long time. I’m sure there’s several other mentors who are really interesting as well.
ASCII robot buttons will soon be created. As long as the printer has a whole ton of black.
Anyone who will be at the PNW Districts and would like one, let me know so I can save one. After I run out it will be worm on a string stickers and possibly some local DEFCON ones, then just origami.

How do I *politely* tell someone I don't want them traveling with my robotics team when they specially misgender my friends, complain about wearing masks, and make everything about politics?
What a wild ride. From last year (first year) of being lucky if our robot stayed together, and even our most recent competition 2 weeks ago where we ranked 9th from the bottom to finish our first day of this weekend's competition in 6 place!
WE WON!!! We just won our first robotics event, and placed first overall!!!! We are going to districts, and there’s a very real chance at worlds!!
Watch out Taylor Swift, we’re coming!
Being able to sleep in your own bed for a robotics competition weekend is severely underrated.
Getting to that bed before midnight remains a challenge.
