View from my tent when getting up to leave the Black desert for the last time this year. Hopefully heading home tomorrow, after a long season of remote camping and cool archaeology. Final photo tally: ~34k digital images? ~24 rolls of film (800+ frames???!)!! #Fieldwork #Jordan #BelieveInFilm

Yesterday I joined my first session of #LeahManaemaAvene's Fieldwork.

'FIELDWORK: Collective Recovery from Colonial Fragmentation Disorder' is a book Leah wrote but decided NOT to publish in print.

Instead, #Fieldwork is read to small groups of people as part of a commitment to restoring oral cultures, narrative technologies, community building, collective healing and life long collaborative resistance practices.

And honestly, first impressions?
It's warmly profound

Another Willi Willi fieldwork is successfully completed, and the caves are as photogenic as ever.

This is one of our long term climate and groundwater hydrology monitoring site, now in its 12th year of data. This has only been possible due to the 'citizen science' of Kempsey Speleo. Soc. members, who helped design the monitoring program to learn more about the caves that they had discovered.

Thanks also to the NPWS for permission to work in these national parks.

At the Spinosaurus dig site in Morocco earlier this year. Can’t wait for the next expedition.

In the meantime, work on the fossils continues! ⚒️ 🦴

Setting up my mobile artifact photography studio. Things are terrible in the region, but we are just keeping to ourselves in our quiet corner of the desert. Trying to finish out our season and head home. 🤞 #Fieldwork #Jordan #PentaxK1ii

It's starting to feel a bit like fieldwork! Next week, a third try to access the caves of the Upper Macleay. Flooding rains stopped our last trips. Thanks to the Kempsey Speleo. Soc., we have over a decade of climate and hydrology monitoring here.

A visit to one of the OG collectors in the Collectors Tour array.

In this visit Cluster member Jeff Munroe describes the importance of long-term research in environmental science, how Dust^2 research helps better understand arid landscapes, and we see a hike on a lovely fall day in Utah.

What can #artfairs tell us about buyer decision-making in criminogenic markets?

Leveraging theory and #fieldwork, Dr. Diāna Bērziņa compares and contrasts features in art fairs & museum spaces. She explores art fairs’ sensorial elements that allow visitors to “extend beyond the sight-only barrier.”
