Сейчас ссылки с ftp:// почти не встречаются, а сам протокол всё чаще вспоминают только при разборе легаси-систем. Just learned about the existence of #PuttyCAC and that (supposedly) the Putty project rejected implementing OpenSC smartcard support.

So now the only way you can use a smartcard (aka. a yubikey) for SSH authentication with #FileZilla and/or #WinSCP is to use it as both still do NOT support #OpenSSH agent but only the Putty Pageant.

So if anyone else is looking for a way to use their smartcard with WinSCP or FileZilla, install OpenSC, reboot, install Putty-CAC, start Putty-CAC|s pageant.

Un site de ressources utiles en ligne de commande #CLI que je découvre ce matin. Je cherche comment configurer #mint pour travailler en local sur un site web avant de mettre le contenu en ligne. Jusqu'à présent, j'ai toujours utilisé #Filezilla mais je sais que certain.e.s barbu.e.s traitent leur #Flat #CMS en local ( #hugo par ex)...

Das Fenstermanagement von #Gnome hatte heute Abend seinen Leistungstest. Musste nen komplexen Job machen, bei dem mehrere Anwendungen zusammenspielten, inkl. einer Windows-VM mit Tauschordner, Copy&Paste und Drag&Drop. Lief alles reibungslos. Bin sehr zufrieden! :)

After reading a few answers given by #filezilla devs to users, I’ve decided to never use this software again. If you need an #ftpclient just use #winscp or #cyberduck. The arrogance of some people truly doesn’t deserve the attention. 😒

Extremely frustrated with #filezilla! In my work PC I need authorization to install apps. But not to delete. Every time FZ’s update screen appears, I forget and click “Update”. And the installer willy-nilly deletes my installed app without checking if I have permissions to install first. 🤬

@felipe Here's my intuition: #copyparty's webdav will probably be OK within a LAN, where packet loss and latency is no issue. The #WebDAV will likely flake out over longer distances not in the LAN, unless staying within one's fairly-close geographic region. FTP (albeit ancient and unpopular) will be great over the long haul - securely with TLS - but that requires a decent FTP client like #FileZilla. Web goodness fumbled there.
