Giving #haikuos live USB a spin on the ol' thinkpad and am pretty into it. Unfortunately the beta 5 images do not boot on this machine so I had to use a nightly image. Will consider a full install when beta 6 is out 👀

Haiku Insider posted a nice article on using Krita on Haiku (basics) with some examples, always nice to keep up on news items there.

Is Lemmy "competitive" with Discourse/Zulip in features? I would love to participate in various forums (Haiku OS, for sure; others too, like Pony which is on Zulip), but am loath to create log-ins on each. Is the Discourse way of not going for federation important for discussion forums?

Updated for Haiku 64bit: Lazarus 4.0.
Lazarus is a Rapid Application Development Tool for Free Pascal.
Install or update it with Haiku's application HaikuDepot or the Terminal command pkgman.
For this I created/updated a local script (partly based on how Fedora uses it):

Playing around with KDE's kde-builder tool on Haiku, after the first attempts things look pretty good in shape.
For those interested, I've wrote down some steps on how to set this up for haiku at:

Upstream information (lots of additional required information can be found there):

Meanwhile Kcalc and Konsole (and their required frameworks build). :)

On #HaikuOS I find browsers like Floorp and Firefox almost unusably slow. Is this a matter of them not being optimized for Haiku or is there a deeper issue?
On May 10 2020, the @haiku released Haiku R1 alpha 2. #HaikuOS https://www.haiku-os.org/news/2010-05-10_haiku_project_announces_availability_haiku_r1alpha_2/
@Kancept out of curiosity, does #haikuos provide the same feature?
EDIT: it seems it does... https://www.haiku-os.org/docs/userguide/en/tracker.html#transaction-status
I have this cute little thumb drive gifted by a friend many years ago, that hadn't been plugged in since who knows when. Put it in my big Linux box first. Nothing. It was simply not recognized at all. Tried with my ancient #HaikuOS netbook next and... the drive worked just fine. After that I could plug it back in the Linux machine and copy files to it without a hitch.
We don't forget that on Haiku we also have some really nice native applications, one of them being StreamRadio.
An application native to Haiku to search for and listen to internet radio stations.
