Floriade this year saw a record number of visitors: 519,413 ‼️ That’s a lot of people interacting with #science and #flowers 🤯🤩
It’s amazing to see science be a core part of Canberra’s spring spirit and the festival honouring Australian scientists who made major contributions to their field 🧪💗 (who you can learn about on the Floriade website)

This year’s theme was “Science and Nature” ! Each garden bed display showed a different #science element, from #Petri dishes 🧫 to #DNA 🧬 to the human #brain 🧠 to light #refraction 🌈 to #space and #engineering mechanisms ⚙️🪐 and so much more. Not to mention all the interactive science-themed shows and activities 💜
#Floriade - Canberra’s annual flower festival. Today was the final day, which is also the Dogs’ Day Out. Still plenty of gorgeous #flowers

It is a nice enough day at #Floriade that I’ve even taken my jumper off as I sit under an umbrella for shade and listen to a classical 3 piece - violin, keyboard and cello (I think)
Went for a bit of a walk earlier - alas I was a day too early for #floriade (that starts tomorrow) but the weather IS nice in #Canberra today…
My attempt at #Floriade in the front #garden bed. Many #flowering #daffodils. Next winter I might put in some tulips behind them (to the left in this picture).
