I do think the correct answer to the issue of disposable straw waste is to just quit using straws. The overwhelming majority of straw users (like me) simply don't need them.

Some people reach that conclusion through the weakest, most fearful, most fragile, and in the end, the _wimpiest_ chain of reasoning imaginable.
