The Queerness and Games Conference is happening this weekend, Sep 26-28! Friday is entirely remote (on Discord) and tickets are Pay-What-You-Want! Almost everything on Saturday and Sunday will be livestreamed!

Devs, speedrunners, critics, and scholars will be giving talks and two liveplay games on Friday are still looking for players!

If you're interested you can learn more, register, and join the Discord!

PITCH A LARP BY MARCH 10TH
Make a Scene is a festival that premieres brand new larp scenarios on a new theme every year. Submit a short pitch for a larp by March 10th, and if selected we'll pay you to write it for the August festival. First-time designers and BIPOC are especially encouraged to pitch!

Make a Scene 2025 looks UNDER THE SURFACE, beyond first impressions and shallow artifice to the truths beneath, whatever the cost. Let's delve deeper together. Who knows what we'll find?

Update on remote presentations (Feb 7, 2025)

We've received many questions about what QGCon will do to accommodate people who cannot come to Canada in the current geopolitical context. While QGCon has always been livestreamed, we are considering what more we can do to accommodate remote presentations and remote arcade presenters.

As the situation continues to evolve, we are watching closely and gathering information about the communityโ€™s needs concerning remote conference access. We are investigating workable, practical alternatives and look forward to sharing them with you closer to the conference.

In the meantime, we strongly encourage you to apply with your game, project, talk, workshop, or other incredible queer thing, even if you donโ€™t know whether you can make it in person. Please donโ€™t self-select out of QGCon โ€“ in the event that coming to Canada is unfeasible, we will work with you to ensure you can meaningfully participate.

Despite everything, weโ€™re looking forward to being in community with you!
