Hey fedi friends, as the new year approaches I am reviewing my giving plans for 2026 (and I encourage you to do the same). I’m looking for recommendations in the following areas:

Organizations that focus on innocence efforts.
Organizations that focus on immigrant services, especially legal services.
Organizations that focus on homeless services, especially for victims of domestic violence.

My focus is on charities working in my community and state 1 that make sure donated funds are actually used for the intended purpose. I am an atheist, but religiouly-motivated organizations that get the job done are good enough for me.

(My goal with this post is not to get accolades; it’s to make sure I can make a difference with the blessings I’ve received in life.)
