Does anyone have any commentary on use of expired masks? In reading CDC reports and such information, it appears the rubber bands are what would fail, but in proper storage situations they are still usable years later.
I found some neat listings on ebay for bulk lots at good prices expiring early 2026, hence the good price...
My other thought is I could just staple new rubber bands to the masks too even...

when Public Health Ontario failed to require #masks4all, local public health units & municipalities stepped up. #onted is not under muni, but local public health can issue orders to inspect all school ventilation, plus the funding is there to pay for it.

Canadian Tire is having a clearance sale, but it's more expensive for less masks vs ordering 9513s from China.

I probably shouldnāt post about thisā¦ Itās just that watching my wife suffer through covid this last week and rush back prematurely to an unmasked #bced school is beyond disheartening. I feel sick.
After barely 6 covid sick days off, bced staff started calling, desperate for her to return to work. There were no substitutes available to cover for my wife, who previous to covid has had to live with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue.
She is now slowly recovering from a #covid infection she received from the unmasked #bced class sheās so hastily been thrown back into.
This is truly unsustainable #bctf. Covid sick students should be masked. Fellow staff and teachers should be masked. My wife got sick while wearing an N95 everyday simply due to the unchecked viral load being accepted and normalized in #bced schools.
If weāve learned anything this last year, itās that one way masking is just not good enough. Does #worksafebc even care? Iām sorry but your childās maskless attendance should not be more important than my partnerās lifelong health.
Due to my wifeās diligent masking while sick, I managed to avoid covid this time. We also slept apart every night and barely saw each other this last week.
Itās not lost on me, however, that had parents and teachers done the same and masked their sick kids, this all could have been avoided.
In the end weāre all only as strong as our weakest link. In this case our weakest link is our covid minimizing, uncaring ātop doctorā health minister #BonnieHenry.
Teachers are not expendable. Society should be #masking to protect them. I canāt believe Iām begging people to care at year four of this tragic pandemic but thatās where weāre at.

Dad got #covid this summer with my cousin and sister because they all just wanted a British family birthday here in #BC for his 80th.
We had been booked to join them up coast but found out two days prior to leaving. We called off the trip with several folks covid sick at the house we were planning to stay.
It was then we discovered #bcferries no longer refunds for covid cancellations, as to them the pandemic is over. We had to pay to drop our reservation days from our trip, knowing the ferry we had reserved would only be 75% full.
For #BritishColumbia businesses like #bcferries, ignoring the pandemic is just an extra cash grab. Book another ferry now, pay us 20 bucks or go get sick. They ultimately profited off our loss.
