I do a search on Google and one of the results is from Autism Speaks. I want to not be shown results from this piece of shit outfit.
So I check if I can block it. Before you start laughing, I recall (maybe incorrectly) that at times Google has allowed us to block some sources. Even if Google itself does not allow it, I have installed extensions that can do it. (Just not in the profile I'm using.)
So I click on the three dots next to the result and I see a button labeled "Remove result." I click on it and I get the dialog in the image I've attached to this post.
The notion that you can *remove* the result is mostly a lie.
Let's go over the options in turn:
* "It shows my personal contact info" Nope, that's not the problem.
* It shows my contact info with an intent to harm me" Nope, that's not my case.
* "It shows other personal info" Still not my case.
* "It contains illegal info" Nope, it is definitely stupid but not illegal.
* "It’s outdated" Well, that's not really the problem.
If you click on the arrow next to these options, a lot of them send you to Google's documentation about this or that.
The last option will allow you to ask for a refresh. That's not removal!
The first option is the one that seems to be the most expedient one, but I expect that Google is going to see that my information is not on the page and not do anything about it.
So... why is the button called "Remove result" if it does not actually remove the result from what I get?
