#QT https://elizabethtai.com/2025/06/29/i-support-deleting-your-second-brain/
I've never understood the concept of a second brain or PKM. For me Obsidian (and formerly, OneNote) is just an app that's an extension of my journal. I write stuff I'd like to keep and go back to, I use it to make lists, I even write with it. Sometimes people overcomplicate Obsidian. It's just a Markdown editor with a lot of extensibility.
Doing this again.

#QT https://social.coop/@foolishowl/114762519986061548 this is like, my default state
Been seeing this vibe (sorry) more and more lately, about the appeal of model-generated code deriving from the nightmare state of modern code.
I agree! And from precedent it’s how I know we’re stuck with this nonsense forever. Tech at large doesn’t fix its mistakes. It papers over them with another layer of abstraction. Then another.

We've just walked down this street and it's heartening to see 5 pride flags now flying proudly (pun intended) including a one right next to the Christian bookshop in the article.

Update on my time flying the Corsair
After flying it for some time it’s been a mixed bag but a generally positive experience.
The Corsair flight model is currently subject to much discussion and I agree it’s one of the module’s weak points at the moment. The aircraft feels a bit off. Floaty and not in a Navy plane kind of way. It has systems that either aren’t fully implemented yet or have bugs you can exploit, like getting over 3200 RPM by using your mouse to manually adjust the governor lever. The landing gear appears extended in multiplayer servers even if you retracted it. Various essential bindings are missing, such as a button charging the guns. You have to be careful not to deploy the map table when you charge the guns. The hit box for the Rocket Box switches are small. It’s rough, but the potential is here.
I feel that after some tweaks on Magnitude 3’s part it’ll improve things a lot. I can still recommend the module, but I think it’d be wiser to wait for the first update to drop before jumping on it. I think it’s a visually stunning module and with a variety of cool weapons at your disposal. With a new carrier to land on it’s hard to say no.

I released the first alpha of my social media meta-client yesterday. So far only for #SailfishOS but Android's coming too after I've figured out all the Play Store stuff.

I think they're missing a few ports in that list...
Ah yes, Doom. If it's not obvious, this game is easily in the top games of all time for me, possibly even #1. I have played Doom since it came out, on the family Pentium 286 when I was barely able to start forming long-term memories.
I remember my looking over my dad's shoulder as he made the monsters go away. I remember taking the instruction booklet with me to read and grow fascinated with the artwork, to the point where I even tried writing grade school fanfiction and drawing my own doomguy sketches.
By the time I got to highschool, Skulltag was a popular source port, of which I spent most of my time playing custom mapsets, gameplay mods, you name it. Fast forward another few years and I started streaming, kicking things off with several months of DoomRPG + DRLA, to now playing and even modding Hideous Destructor.
This game has struck a chord in my souls deeper than any other game has, the only one that's come close so far has been Minecraft, honestly. It's been such an influence on my life, and it's absolutely incredible what the community has made from this tiny little indie studio's second outing in the FPS genre from the early 90s!
...and out of almost nowhere (emphasis on "almost"), I am rewriting #WebSurfer to use #Qt Widgets instead.
I don't know Wt as good as wxWidgets to be honest, let alone QML, but I'll figure it out as we go along! 😄
Having fun playing with an app mockup in #Qt. Early days, but might be a nice way to get Mac / PC / *nix all in one.
It’s not *quite* as pretty as building directly in SwiftUI, but it looks like it might be close enough.
