Zjistil jsem, že nabíjecí knoflíková lionka venku v mrazu nic nevydrží. Tak jsem připájel adaptér na 2 tužkové baterie. A aby to vypadalo trochu esteticky, vytiskl jsem tomu všemu krabičku.
Model, který jsem upravoval byl ale asi na jiný typ plynoměru a montážní závit je trochu mimo. Sice se mi to tam podařilo přišroubovat, ale možná to ještě předělám.

ok I TRIED!

I snagged some Ubiquiti UDIM-AT light switches, and was hoping to get level data and "button press" data out of them and I'd relay that on to other things.

NOPE

After getting a uck-g2-plus so I could install the Unifi Connect stuff (WHY isn't that a container or some other thing so I can run that on a much nicer machine than the uck-g2-plus and not have to deal with this?!) I got it upgraded, associated, and after some mashing with a stick, I got it into Home Assistant.

YAY!

But the Connect interface and the HA interface basically show a whole lot of nothing remotely useful, because the switch isn't associated to anything - because duh?

So at this point it's an expensively failed experiment and I'm back to building my own. It would be lovely if I could get Inovelli involved, that would be downright lovely, but realistically I'm guessing I'm on my own for wanting POE light switches to augment / control the switches I've got in places where getting full power to doesn't make sense.

Ohhhhh well wanders off to poke at paddle light switch dimensions and how to get a 3d printable paddle going

Conceptually, never want these things to “phone home” or contact anything outside my home network.

Nor do I want them to communicate with anything on my network that I haven’t specifically authorized them to.

But, of course, I do want devices on my home network to be able to initiate communication (to be able to adjust lights etc.).

Thinking Home Assistant on a mac Mini and mobile devices talking to that to adjust lights etc (?)).
