On December 8, I went to see Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights' mobile outreach clinic at Serekaniyeh Camp for IDPs near al-Hasakeh in North-East Syria.
Despite the liberation from the Assad regime that happened one year earlier, the camp is bustling with people of all ages (many though, much younger than the revolution itself), unable still to return to their home towns.
As the images show, our team is operating out of small, often moldy tents that are not the environment we expect for our staff or patients. We are actively working with camp management to move into a caravan on the ground.
It is our hope that we will soon be able to move into a caravan, leaving those tents behind, and providing a more appropriate space for our patients. In order to adapt the caravan to our needs, we will have to spend some €7000.
We also hope to be able to power our facility through clean solar power instead of diesel.
If you wish to help us make the move, and provide a better therapeutic space for our clients, consider donating at:
