Just noticed that #IntelliJ IDEA's launcher program starts #Java using the #Rust `jni` library…which I contributed to! 😇

I set up a from scratch Linux Flutter Dev VM for myself and installed the latest IntelliJ. I was pretty appalled by how sluggish things felt, even with the largest AI plugins off. I then turned off all the other plugins I don't use (probably a couple dozen) since I'm doing Flutter Desktop development. Thankfully things are much snappier. I'm sure part of it is Wayland under VirtualBox which is better than it has been but still quirky compared to X. Anyway, if you find your IntelliJ getting sluggest try slashing and burning the dozens of plugins that you maybe aren't using but are installed and enabled by default. #programming #intellij

@LorenzoAncora #NotepadPP users might also seriously want to consider the option of switching to some other #TextEditor / #IDE they can trust such as #IntelliJ, #Neovim, #Eclipse or #VSCodium
