Ist das neu oder habe ich es bisher übersehen?!
Took me a few, uh, months, but i finished reviewing the in-memory storage and other wl-clipboard-rs PRs and pushed out v0.9.3. Other notable fixes are shell script text type heuristic, and ordering-preserving wl-paste -l.
Also minimized some dep versions: https://github.com/YaLTeR/wl-clipboard-rs/commit/3c9d1265a2df1d41096a0628aaaf217f69a18593
now it's your move @bugaevc to release the real wl-clipboard that ppl actually use :p
@gnulinuxuser any chance to see #plank under #wayland?

Congratulazioni! @linux #unolinux
@ArneBab Sorry, but it doesn't work that way. Developers/maintainers must be free to remove some features to free themselves from overwhelming burden of an excessive and mostly unused code base. This is the bare minimum of respect any user needs to bring to the devs.
If users insist on keeping legacy features, they need to take care of maintaining it themselves.
Regarding #Wayland: Please be aware that most of the people who have been working with it (directly or in GTK, KDE, GNOME, …) over the last 1-2 decades seem to support ditching it. The excessive maintenance burden of the legacy X11 stack clearly conflicts with the lack of maintainers. The maintainers' time is limited, and they chose to use it in a way that seems more useful to them.
Rarely breaking existing systems is necessary given the finite resources. Same will be or was true for e. g. 32Bit applications, pre-EFI BIOS, or Solaris hardware. If you still need those, use an old stable Linux distro like Debian or Ubuntu LTS.
My laptop runs #Wayland and has a touchscreen.
I recently discovered that in most apps I can swipe to scroll and pinch to zoom, same as a phone.
Neat.
Reflecting On What Truly Matters To You
I got EGUI working pretty easily with pure Rust Wayland libraries (smithay).
ICED is giving trouble, it has way more abstractions. It's aiming to be more complete toolkit.
ICED input, drawing and mouse cursor are working, however small weird things are incorrect. Like all drawn widgets look like they are grayed out (however they function!), there is no mouse hover states, yet the text input appears.
Wayland HA DESTRUIDO la pila gráfica de Linux
Wayland and Snap packages, always having some issues. For example Thunderbird icon replaced by generic W. How to fix that?

(also I don't really understand why Linux maintainers are lagging five major versions behind in their Ubuntu repos with widely used software such as Thunderbird)
Kubuntu 25.10 does not start plasma with latest Nvidia drivers (580.95.05) #nvidia #wayland #plasma #additionaldrivers #2510

The "Magic Lamp" minimise effect in KDE Plasma looks stupid, but it's actually kinda great for usability. I mean, it's *very* clear where the window went. I'm keeping it.
Wayland's "you can only swap when we say" strikes again (on some compositors):
https://github.com/glfw/glfw/issues/2800
We will probably have to code a workaround. The workaround will not be what the Wayland compositors want this to achieve, but will instead waste more system resources as well as peoples time.
I would be *extremely* pro this option if it was opt-in to only swap if visible.
