For #InternationalRockDay I share with you my favorite rock- the Granodiorite of Topaz Lake. It’s a beautiful rock with huge feldspar megacrysts. And this piece is also glacially polished too! @phaneritic.bsky.social bright me this when Z was little and I couldn’t join a field class in the Sierra.

It's apparently International Rock Day, so here's three of mine (L to R): a bit of fossilized coral found on a beach down by Lake Erie, some mica from near Perth, Ontario, and a polished tektite. Which I bought from a store, but it's still cool.
