Was praised by my #Japanese teacher for being able to speak a lot quicker than usual🥹Learning a language is such a long and hard endeavor, so it's nice to see small improvements even if you are far from fluent 🥹Finally finding speaking partners (on #helloTalk) and taking some speaking lessons (on #italki) did help a lot. Highly recommend using these or similar services to just find someone to talk to in your target language

「システムの問題に応える」のような「応える」は「解決」のように私はよく使いたかったですが、なんか日本人にとって違和感になりますね。

「応える」とよく使われるフレーズがあるでしょうか？

先月からitalkiで学ぶことが始めました✌️

italkiは言語学習の先生とオンラインレッスンが受けるとのプラットフォームです。Skypeやitalkiなまのソフトで話すことが出来、チャットでもレッスンのノートが出来ます。

italkiがあるということは数年前知ってたけど、必要じゃなかったから使わなかったんです。今までにね😁

実は仕事で日本の顧客が増え、日本語でのメールやコールも増えてきたので、ビジネス日本語を（そして営業やITに関わる単語も）ちゃんと学びたいと思ってitalkiのレッスンが始めました。

Discovered and started to use #WaniKani this week. Seems like a fresh approach compared with #Anki, which I've used for some periods in the past to learn kanji.

From Mastodon I just learned about #LearnNatively which seems will come in handy.

I'm planning a trip to #Japan later this year and I'd like to learn as much as possible by then.

I feel I should join some classes, but unsure which. Any recommendations? I've heard of #italki.

Any interesting accounts to follow on Mastodon as well? Maybe some with some simple posts in Japanese?

PS: Is #Duolingo worth it? Always seems too slow/easy.

I wish people on #italki would respect that my profile reads "Please don't book instant lessons for your children without contacting me first". I should get paid more than a fiver to prance around the kitchen to #babyshark for thirty minutes.

Friendly reminder to try to leave feedback for your #Italki tutors when you can! It's not only super helpful for prospective students (which also helps your tutor!), but it also helps your tutor learn what's working or not working, and make their lessons even better!

@phaysis At a certain point, it seems necessary to seek out live conversations. So tomorrow I am literally flying to Mexico for two-week immersion program. When I get back, I will still keep doing my daily #Duolingo, but I imagine I will sign up for an online conversation course too. I hear good things about #iTalki.

I've been studying Italian for a while using #duolingo It's something, but its definitely suboptimal. It's really formulaic and doesn't really do enough to build either ad-hoc speaking ability or some of the basic grammar that one needs.

I started doing some live lessons using Zoom on #italki and I feel like I'm finally making some real progress.

What really holds me back is that I know some Spanish, and well, these two languages are different animals.

#Italian is MUCH harder, in my opinion.

I'm starting to read some infosec content in Italian, and while its slow going, I'm getting a lot of it and expanding my vocabulary pretty quickly.

@GreenSkyOverMe I want to use #italki for German and Spanish but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. I’ve gotten a number of graded readers in both languages and I watch a number of YouTube videos for those languages and how to learn languages. I also watch Netflix shows in my target languages with the same language subtitles on. I’m focusing mostly on comprehension. I think #Duolingo is great for getting started in a language though I don’t think it can get anyone to fluency.

I have a Hebrew lesson on #italki coming up in less than two weeks.
