*** I don't know the facts of this case or this individual, but "critical missing" tends to be people in mental crisis. The guy appears to be a former Deputy Forester. His LinkedIn profile shows what I expect is his favorite campsite... Joshua Tree National Park. My gut is he's in Joshua Tree or similar, hopefully just cooling off and regaining mental health. Maybe somewhere in the Angeles National Forest. I'd check his favorite campsites and end of the road areas all through the Angeles National Forest. Folks in crisis tend to go to places they know and have previously brought them peace.

KENNETH FIRE
At approximately 2:40 pm, the Kenneth Fire erupted near the Victory Trail Head near the border of Ventura and Los Angeles Counties. Forward progress has been stopped. The fire is currently holding at 960 acres and is 0% contained. Approximately 400 Firefighters will remain on scene through the night, continuing to provide structure protection and knock down hot spots. There are no reported structures damaged or destroyed.
