Zwischenstopp in Luss, einem (sehr touristischen) Dorf am Loch Lomond. Ich hätte beim Fotografieren außenrum etwas mehr Platz lassen sollen, um die Komposition nachträglich verbessern zu können. Mehrere Versuche, das Bild anders zuzuschneiden, gefielen mir nicht. Jetzt stehen da halt Leute am Bildrand herum. Naja.

For #TombTuesday, here's a #Viking hogback stone I came across at the #Luss Parish Churchyard in #Scotland. The hogback stone is typical of an Anglo-Scandinavian grave marker from the 11th century with a curved ridge decorated with shingles reminiscent of a Viking longhouse. It dates back to the time when #Vikings raided the area (around 1260). These types of stones are only found in the British Isles and Ireland.
