I was wondering why I was hearing Mastodon web notification sounds but not seeing anything, turns out I somehow unknowingly switched my notifications page to the mentions tab and that also changes the badge on the notifications button in the side (bottom on mobile) bar such that it only shows up on mentions, I think??
Is there a way to make the Mastodon web interface start at my last read post rather than the newest post? Like how the Android app feed works basically.

@GhostOnTheHalfShell What I end up doing in #MastodonWeb for finding whether a certain name is in my followers list is press "Followers" and scroll down extensively with a page search and name entered until I (don't) find who I need. Such is the trick with pagination systems and manual search. I wish there was a better way to filter such lists throughout the interface, as you're requesting...

There's one thing I hate about Firefish. I'm basically back to having my timeline jump around and losing my place. I had partially fixed it on Mastodon web. (I did not handle well the case where stuff was being loaded in mid-timeline.) However, now I'm back to square one.
So I have to ask. Who the fuck thinks this is a good idea to just have the interface jump around without a damn care in the world?

Pro-tip: If you hear your Mastodon web interface produce bleeps at you, but you don't see any notification... well, it may be a bug.
However, it is most likely that someone favored your post, but that you set the notification column to show only Mentions. So you don't see the event that triggered the notification.

Ok, so I perfected the userscript I created to fix the stupid #Mastodon bug in the web interface about scrolling Home when you are in "Slow mode." According to my observations, the stock code works for a while and then it stops.
My script puts a scroll command at the end of the execution queue in JavaScript and focuses the first unread toot. It's been working fine for over a day for me, so I'm calling it "done."

I think I have a solution for the crappy behavior of the web interface when you click to see more posts and the interface populates your "Home" feed and sends the last toot you read god knows where.
My experience here has been inconsistent. Sometimes the column scrolls to bring me back to the last toot I read. Sometimes it doesn't, and I have to hunt for it myself. It is very annoying.
I'm testing a fix that I think solves the issue. It exists as a userscript for Tampermonkey.
