Was last night seeing #MichaelRother do a blazing set of Neu! and Harmonia songs a hell of a thing? Sure was. (The fact that Hans Lampe, the drummer in Neu!'s brief live incarnation in the mid-seventies so Klaus Dinger could be even more Klaus, was here is even better.) #music

Neu! German for "New!" were a West German krautrock band formed in Düsseldorf (HA! It's Dusseldorf again, like you saw in ELOY) in 1971 by #KlausDinger and #MichaelRother following their departure from Kraftwerk. The group's albums were produced by #ConnyPlank, who has been regarded as the group's "hidden member". They released three albums in their initial incarnation — Neu! (1972), Neu! 2 (1973), and Neu! 75 (1975) — before disbanding in 1975. I SO FUCKING LOVE THE MUSIC OF NEU!

Harmonia was a #WestGerman musical "#supergroup" formed in 1973 as a collaboration between members of two prominent #krautrock bands: #Cluster's #HansJoachimRoedelius and #DieterMoebius joined by #Neu guitarist #MichaelRother. Living and recording in the rural village of #Forst, the trio released two albums—#MusikVonHarmonia (1974) and #Deluxe (1975)—to limited sales before dissolving in 1976.
