Three thoughts on #WalzVanceDebate:
1. #JDVance sets off all of my alarm bells. Every instinct of my body screams "PREDATOR!" in response to that man. Smarmy. Oily. I do not believe a single word that came out of his mouth tonight.
2. Vance WOULD NOT say that #DonaldTrump lost the 2020 election. He WOULD NOT say that he, Vance, would accept the 2024 election results if the GOP loses.
3. Walz consistently called Vance "Mr. Senator."

Camera person just zoomed out briefly to show another signer among press who seems to be signing to the signer who's supposed to be signing to the TV audience, then zoomed back in, excluding both.
This goes beyond #microaggression: it's publicly disparaging & trivializing the needs of the #deaf & borders on #abuse.
Maybe camera person/producer deems it blah blah, but that's for the viewer to determine. Otherwise, why even bother to cover it.

The Pride march is on today in Bangkok and some of my friends are in the parade. There are rainbow symbols everywhere, even my banking app is Pride themed. My friends are teachers and going with the support of our school. The bigots and xenophobes can't fight this.
Have a look how far we have come, this video is from when I was my students age. I find it interesting, more for the ignorance and curiosity than for any animosity.

@georgetakei I don’t know how the definition drifted. Originally #microaggression was used in the same way that microeconomics is used; it meant interpersonal rather than structural and institutional. Just like microeconomics is economics that affects people on an individual level and macroeconomics is economics that has to do with large scale, country level, etc.

Here at the CIP conference room for the consensus meeting. One of the presenters kept saying “The indigenous peoples are cute.” I counted at least five times she used this sentence during her presentation. The critical part was that she mentioned indigenous ppls being cute is our nature. Sounded like we’re all dumb dumb to her. Microaggression experience is our daily life as a native Taiwanese, and this is just one tiny bit of them.
