This is the inconvenient part. When we look at conditions associated with better results in education, they are tied partly to schools’ resourcing (funny how chronic underfunding erodes capacity) & partly to context outside the education budget.

We see the consequences of decades of policies designed to enrich the few & screw the poor.

The latest #NAPLAN (Australian National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) results have just come out here. They're not good.

You can NOT tell me that #COVID19 isn't a huge part of this.

The fact that the majority of these kids have had #COVID19 at least once will absolutely have something to do with it.

They've been off school due to illness, they have #COVIDbrain, their teachers have been off with #COVID19. All of this and more.

I’m not a parent, but I have concerns about how these tests are providing parents with any actionable data? Also, are teachers aware of how kids are doing in relation to international scores either? Where there are 2 maybe 3 out of 4 marks that are “not good enough” it seems suspicious.
