Welp. Apparently changing my Unix username broke my dconf database!
I fixed it by dumping, sed’ing, and reloading it, though. After pulling it from a backup from before the rename, because something broke it (probably opening a dconf-using app).
dconf dump / | sed -e 's/oldname/newname/g' | dconf load /
