Please don't tell me there's a easier way to convert MIDI to Nokia beeps and boops.

A screenshot of my desktop, on the left I have GIMP open, on the right MilkyTracker. In GIMP I have a screenshot from MidiEditor open where I drew the names for the notes over it and also the numbers of the rows. In MilkyTracker I copied the notes based on these parameters.

I have submitted my game, Tlatim! to the Nokia 3310 Jam 6.

Play it here: gheja.itch.io/tlatim

The code and assets will be available on GitHub.

The title screen of my game I mentioned in the post. It is a highly pixelated screen with some winter theme, a small snowy hill with three pine trees and a waving person on the left, a snowman in hat and wit a mitten on its hand on the right. The credits are shown, currently reading "Code: gheja". In the bottom right corner is a prompt reading "Start [X]". The title is shown in big letters on the top left corner, reading "Tlatim!".A screenshot from the game, it is highly pixelated, there is a landscape with a pine tree, a house, a person, a huge snow ball, a child and another pine tree. On the top half of the screen is the player character, a cloud. Top left is a counter reading 27, the seconds remaining. Top right is the energy meter, it is full.Another screenshot from the game, a landscape with a snow covered house, two huge snow balls and a snowman, a person and two pine trees. There is also a new element, a ball that restores the energy of the player. The cloud is grinning and just dropped a huge snowflake. 12 second left from the level and the energy bar is at around 20%.

Told you, it's gonna be bad pixel art. But this doesn't prevent me from going forward with these. In the worst case I'll call them placeholders :)

A screenshot of the graphics from my work-in-progress game jam entry, it shows some pixel graphics, trees, people, houses, snowmen, some snowflakes, a cloud and some interface icons, among others.

I've got an idea! I mean... I had several but this one might fit in the time frame (and my attention span) as well.

It includes some snowman, cozy houses and tiny people so prepare for bad pixel art on the whopping 84x48 pixels :D

But I already feel that the title will be a last minute thing, as always.

I've been putting off this game jam for a while. I just checked the countdown and now I am starting to feel the last minute urge. Finally! Now I might be able to actually start working on my game! I just need one more thing, a concept.

Good Boy... just very hungry, my Nokia 3310 Jam 5 entry finished in the 15th place (of 146 total games), I'm quite happy about it as I had only about 4-5 days to work on it and expected it to land around 30th place at best.

It is also ranked 8th in innovation (originality), 23rd in completeness, 34th in quality (mostly gone with the first version of everything).

I made some bug fixes and added a new screen for the timing mini-game on grabbing The Tasty Food. It still needs a bit of tuning but hopefully reduces the chaos (aka things happening at the same time) and makes it more playable.

(The game is now around the point I really wanted it at submission time. I will probably do some bug fixes and tuning, but not much.)

The "Focus!" screen of the game, in the middle part there is a huge chunk of meat, surronded by some ray effect and a hipnotized dog stretching his neck towards it, his mouth is watering. On the top there is a meter with multiple segments and an arrow below it, pointing to the meter (this is the mini-game, the player has to aim to the middle section). On the bottom is a gauge with the label "Time", below it an action, press X to "Grab!".The same mini-game but after the player hit the "Grab!" action. The arrow below the meter was stopped around at 40% of the meter, the result is displayed in the middle of the screen, reading "Great!" below it is a hint, "now run". The gauge shows the remaining amount of the food, labeled "Food". The action buttons are not available, indicated by blank spaces.
