I am not to amused with #Trump cutting funding from #pbs nor #npr

Npr has some really great radio talk show/ news programming, plus beyond taxes it's free to you to listen to for ever essentially after you buy a radio. (Or just stream from their website/app)

pbs similarly is always free for anyone with a #tvantenna. (same idea with streaming from their website.

I use both, I have an over the air (indoor) #Antenna plugged into two TV's, (one in the middle floor another in the top floor.) and get over 50 channels from the local city for free, internet non dependent. I like that watching off #broadcasttv also doesn't use your internet bandwidth. (saves on cost and increases gaming can potentially performance on your network.)

"President Trump issued an executive order late Thursday directing the Corporation for Public Broadcasting's board of directors to "cease federal funding for NPR and PBS," the nation's primary public broadcasters, claiming ideological bias.

'Neither entity presents a fair, accurate or unbiased portrayal of current events to tax-paying citizens,' the order says. 'The CPB Board shall cancel existing direct funding to the maximum extent allowed by law and shall decline to provide future funding.'

It is not clear that the president has the authority to make such orders to CPB under the law.

PBS President and CEO Paula Kerger called it a 'blatantly unlawful Executive Order, issued in the middle of the night.'

I really hope you can, but we just went through the same threat here in Canada, from essentially the same source. Our Conservative Party of Canada has modeled itself after your Republican Party, and has also been launching attacks against our national public broadcaster (CBC) for the same reason that Trump hates PBS and NPR.

There was only one clear way to save the CBC though, and that was to vote against the Conservative Party to keep them from forming government Federally, which is what we did on our Federal election day on April 28th. The Conservative Party of Canada also promised to end the CBC if they took power.

That's why I worry deeply for PBS, NPR, for all Americans, and for all the parts of the world who were relying on these "free world" broadcasters to counter dictatorship misinformation. Because your ship has sailed, since last November.

I do hope and expect that there is more you can do, but the only clear-cut answer has already passed. :(
