In OSINT Challenges news, I pulled up @gralhix's exercise 013 only to find it's no longer possible due to Google's polite sensibilities. I reviewed Gralhix's walk-through anyway and was happy to learn something new: the what3words geocoding system.
Something I might have normally dismissed as mumbo jumbo turns out to be a precise and easy-to-communicate way of sharing coordinates.
I can imagine various scenarios where this bit of knowledge might come in handy in an #OSINT investigation.

Just solved a fascinating #OSINT challenge using Overpass Turbo for geolocation and Suncalc for chronolocation. It's amazing how combining these tools can pinpoint a location and time from a short video!

I get that this is basically a return to the Livejournal and blog days of yore where you needed to figure out image and video hosting separately. But it is going to slow things down quite a bit.
The fact that directly uploading videos to Mastodon servers creates problems (for understandable reasons) is going to be another challenge for #OSINT accounts on this platform.
Being able to directly archive/store videos from other platforms on Twitter seamlessly was pretty handy.
Strava is a gold mine in tracking military squadrons as well as the outlines of "top secret" facilities via Strava heat maps. Same with other fitness apps. Just scrape publicly available data and anyone can do it.
