Paul Orlander’s “Cloud DNS Mastery” ( isbnsearch.org/isbn/9798275566 ) is an end-to-end tour of cloud #DNS in practice. It goes from TTL strategy to multi-cloud deployments, emphasizing #Automation with #IaC & #CICD. It covers reliability with traffic steering, health checks, failover, #GSLB, #CDN, and security ( #DNSSEC, #DoT, #DoH ), plus incident response runbooks & observability. It also looks ahead to #Kubernetes, #ServiceMesh, #serverless, #AI/#ML threat detection, and post-quantum DNS ( #PQC ).

The Ethereum Foundation wakes up and smells the PQC coffee!

The foundation has made post quantum security a priority and formed a dedicated team to address looming threats from quantum computing.

Keys areas they are working to address are:
1) Transaction signatures and accounts - existing ECDSA transaction signatures as quantum‑vulnerable.

2) Consensus and commitments: KZG and BLS‑based components are recognized as quantum‑vulnerable.

3) Virtual machine architecture: leanVM is positioned as the “cornerstone” of Ethereum’s PQ cryptography strategy, designed to support PQ signatures and ZK‑proof systems efficiently inside the protocol.

4) Ecosystem migration: The roadmap emphasizes backward compatibility so existing wallets, smart contracts, and infrastructure can continue functioning while new PQ standards roll in gradually.

The initial plan for minipgp6 was to support only the "mandatory to implement" algorithms from RFC 9580.

In terms of public key algorithms, this would mean: only Ed25519 and X25519.

However, in the meantime, draft-ietf-openpgp-pqc has made much progress - IETF-standardized PQC support in #OpenPGP is going to get rolled out in various places soon.

So I'm amending the plan: minipgp will optionally support the two "mandatory" composite #PQC algorithms "ML-KEM-768+X25519" and "ML-DSA-65+Ed25519".

A little while ago I was invited to the PQShield podcast "Shielded" to talk about post-quantum cryptography at Akamai. That episode is now available wherever you get your podcasts as well as here:

Also on youtube:

(I, of course, would rather stick needles into my eyeballs than listen to my own voice or watch myself gesticulating in front of a laptop camera, but ymmv.)

Quantum computing offers huge leaps in tech, but also massive risks.

Full-scale quantum is still years away, but the threat is here now. Through "harvest now, decrypt later," bad actors are already capturing encrypted data to crack once the hardware catches up.

The time to prepare is today. Check out our latest blog to see how Red Hat is staying ahead of the curve and securing the post-quantum future:

Post-quantum prep starts now—assess crypto dependencies, plan migration, and build crypto agility before quantum threats hit.

It is a matter of time before Quantum Computing gains the ability to crack today’s core public key encryption methods.

Our latest post on TechAptitude outlines the efforts by NIST to generate new cryptography standards to help withstand future quantum powered cyber attacks. Check it out!

What if Satoshi Nakamoto is actually building a Quantum-Proof Bitcoin blockchain in silence right now? 🧐
Think about it: He gave us the foundation, vanished, and is now waiting for the "1M Qubit" threat to reveal the ultimate upgrade. Or did he already hide the solution in the Genesis block? 😅💻
