@quattro_bit just pointed me to an #8bit computer mag I did not know yet: "The Portable Companion" - for the #Osborne-1. The mag seems to be preserved at #archiveOrg - here is the cover illustration of the 1st issue.

In Bonn there is a stall with vintage and used books. For 5 Euros I just bought a #math text book from 1968 that contains a chapter on #AnalogComputer #mathematics and programming:
Today I had an all-day seminar about "Code Critic" at MeWi Uni Bonn. I organized the talks of the students as a symposium. The last talk was about the #GOTO controversy that started in the end of the 1960s with a rant from Edsger W. #Dijkstra and lasts until today. The student's talk ended with a self-made meme.

Some days ago a guy from Cologne visited me in my Bonn office to bring me a box full of #C64 #Floppy disks and a bunch of #PaperWare: As a teenager he programmed a #BASIC game ("Schanze") and saved most of tge versions on disk. He also saved all his scribbles with drawings, code snippets and ideas for the game project.
That ideally fits into my research project to reconstruct a critical #edition of a BASIC program.
For digitizing print-out #BASIC listings I use a Fujitsu fi-8170 and a Canon DR-C240. Both are able to scan documents upto 5 meters continuously in lenght. The results are fantastic!
Just published my chapter:
Humanities of the Digital. Philologische Perspektiven auf Source Codes als Beitrag einer computerarchäologischen Knowledge #Preservation
in: Martin Bartelmus / Alexander Nebrig (Hg.): Digitale Schriftlichkeit. Programmieren, Prozessieren und Codieren von Schrift.
Yesterday I ordered some #BASIC books that were in the post today!
Someone in FB's #BASIC group had scanned und uploaded dozens of historic programming books (and one for BASIC #weed as well :-D) to #archiveorg:
Today I received a copy of Olde Hansen's new book "Von #BASIC zur IT-Croud. Eine kleine Geschichte des Programmierens in BASIC in Deutschland" - a quite impressive 200 page paperback about the history of BASIC programming in Germany with many listings, illustrations, and scientific sources. I am really looking forward reading it!

Starting with the april issue the german #64er magazine for the #Commodore64 will be published every month on a web site where every text is properly transformed into HTML.
This year's special theme of the "Vintage Computer Festival Europa" (#vcfe) is "50 years of #Intel8080 and #Motorola6800" with presentations and talks about these #8bit #microprocessor and its implementations.
Nevertheless, I will exhibit a scientific poster (and a #BreakOut-clone for my #Mega65) about my #BASIC researches and give a talk about #PaperWare #Preservation there.
So, join the #vcfe from Sa, 27.04. to Su, 28.04. and visit my exhibition and talk! :)
Speaking about #PaperWare at the <philtag/ n="17"> workshop in Würzburg. (Fotos: @toroe)
Next friday I will present some thoughts on #PaperWare and its #preservation at the "</philtag>" workshop at Uni Wuerzburg (co-organized by @toroe):

Some days ago the attached (German) newspaper article is shared on different social media platforms.
Does anybody know where it originally stems from/knows the source?
The computer organ, John von Neumann forgot to mention:
I'm preparing the process of digitizing 36 Issues of "PEOPLE'S COMPUTER COMPANY' newsletter (I know they already have been scanned b4).
Software of choice: @booksorber

FRAK ("List Fakultetskog Racunardskog Kluba Fakulteta Graditeljskih Znanosti Sveucilista u Rijeci") was the first jugoslawian Computer Fanzine - made by students of engineering at the University in Rijeka in 1982 (until at leat 1985) for mostly HP and TI Calculators, #ZXSpectrum, #SharpMZ and other #HomeComputers with a built-in #BASIC. It is not digitazed and archived online yet ... 13 issues are stored in PEEK&POKE's magazine archive as #PaperWare.
Today on my 2nd day at PEEK&POKE #ComputerMuseum I will focus on jugoslawian magazines from the 70s to the 90s.
There were times when #ComputerScience did not need computers.
