I tried to draw our living room from memory. Very difficult exercise. I'm gonna do it again, and more rooms around the house. Really fun exercise, I highly recommend it.

It’s interesting how each student solved the same creative exercise in their own unique way. In fact, the teacher encouraged us to embrace our own respective styles. A valuable lesson!

Some 3D practice from years back that I dug up for someone recently. I took some photos in the amazing Landschaftspark in Duisburg and then tried to apply what I knew about linear perspective by determining vanishing point etc. Then I just drew the lines. Should probably do more of this.

I often see a few stunning maps employing the full three point technique which I love. It’s a rarer sight to see one-point perspective used and I think it’s potentially worth looking at. It can be used to keep the fidelity of a 2D map. So you get the best of both worlds a 2D map with accurate two dimensional distances and a feeling of depth which can convey character. On this cut away map I chose one point perspective with the vanishing point in the center of the image. #perspectivedrawing

My new tutoring-program is loosely based on ttrpg's. Perspective drawing is very abstract until you've mastered the fundamental ideas, so I created a deck of quests for the player(student) to explore a location I call the Abstract Garden. It should make the process way more tangible and fun.
