In film photography, you only get one chance. One frame to get it right. You can try again, but that means wasting precious film. So when your light meter fails, you still push on and try your best to get that good exposure. This can lead to a lot of mistakes, but you can also get some happy accidents. And those, those happy accidents, are what make it worth it. That's the fascination of film.
