This is based on the iconic image of the pillars of creation, a part of the Eagle nebula (M16 in Serpens) originally captured but the Hubble space telescope and revisited by JWST.

The #PillarsOfCreation are towering columns of cool interstellar gas and dust within the #Eagle #Nebula, located about 7,000 light-years from Earth.

They are an iconic star-forming region, where dense pockets of material are collapsing to create new stars even as the pillars are slowly being eroded by the intense radiation from nearby young, massive stars.

I am absolutely delighted to share this image of Messier 16, the famous Eagle Nebula. I couldn't wait to point my monochrome ToupTek ATR585M at it and I was not disappointed. Even individual subs of this object look good and stacking a little over 4 hours on each filter yielded a nice result. I've included the stack from each filter on Astrobin.

The Eagle Nebula spans the frame from top to bottom with a bright blue central area dominating the frame. The famous Pillars of Creation rise from the bottom of the blue.

Pamiętacie zapierające dech w piersi zdjęcia z Teleskopu Hubble’a? Filary Stworzenia? Pillars of Creation?
Nooo. Pamiętacie.

Spróbowałem coś tam zrobić z M16 (Mgławica Orzeł). Takie pierwsze moje podejście do tego obiektu. Z małego teleskopu, z balkonu w mieście.

Będę się jeszcze z nim bawić i smażyć.

a new view from James Webb Space Telescope showing the "Pillars of Creation" originally made famous by Hubble

#JWST #PillarsOfCreation

a very close-in view of the head of one of the "pillars of creation" originally made famous by the Hubble Space Telescope. in this view from the James Webb Space Telescope, fingerlike clouds of gas & dust several light-years across conceal newly forming solar systems. in the false color image, the clouds appear blue against a background of reddish gas and stars. it's possible to tell that the clouds are being blown toward the lower-left of the image by a source of pressure out of frame to the top right; this is likely happening due to radiation pressure & solar wind from nearby hot stars. the "fingertips" of the clouds are the denser proto solar systems, with gas and dust trailing behind them.

So ... uhhh ... I'm not the only one that sees the face of #Luigi in #PillarsofCreation, right?

As mentioned in my last post, M16, The Eagle Nebula. It's also famous because it contains what many call The Pillars of Creation that was captured in the stunning Hubble Space Telescope pic. Mine isn't quite so grand, but here it is! These were taken with two different setups. The first two are a wide field shot in keeping with the Hubble image in narrow-band SHO format (which is in false colors to show detail). The second is a more zoomed in version taken in natural color. Both images are with/without stars. Enjoy!

Exploring the Pillars of Creation in M16 feels like stepping into a cosmic fairytale. The intricate dance of gas and dust, sculpted by starlight, reminds us of the universe's boundless creativity and beauty. #Astronomy #PillarsOfCreation #M16

#DidYouKnow:#PillarsOfCreation, a #Photograph taken by the Hubble Space Telescope, is possibly the most famous example of 'elephant trunks' of interstellar gas and dust in the Eagle Nebula, in the Serpens constellation.

They are so named because the gas and dust are in the process of creating new stars, while also being eroded by the light from nearby stars that have recently formed.
