Lese in zahlreichen Medien, das gerade vorgestellte Google #Pixel10a, das im März erscheint, sei wie das #Pixel9a. Leute, wartet doch erst mal ab, bis ihr das Gerät in den Händen haltet und vor allem die Hardware gründlich testen könnt.

Natürlich gibt es diverse Gemeinsamkeiten zum Vorgänger des (soliden Mittelklasse-) Smartphones. Es gibt weiter 8 GB Arbeitsspeicher, auch nur 5.100 mAh im Akkumulator. Ja, auch der G4-Chip, entspricht dem Vorgänger, während die 10er Reihe schon den G5 hat, genauso sind auch die Kameras identisch. Das muss nicht immer ein Nachteil sein, schließlich ist auch das Zusammenspiel zwischen Treiber bzw. Software und der Hardware teils ausschlaggebend(er).

Signifikante Verbesserungen gibt es nämlich auch: So hat die Schutzschicht des Displays eine höhere Härtung, die Display-Helligkeit wurde erhöht, das Gerät ist etwas kleiner, obwohl das Display weiterhin 6,3 Zoll hat, die Akkulaufzeit wurde trotz ähnlicher Komponenten erhöht, man kann nun kabellos und per Kabel schneller laden, es gibt 7 Jahre Sicherheitsupdates (wobei man bei Pixel-Geräten eher @GrapheneOS nutzen sollte), die Kamera ist schön flach eingebaut und kabelloses Laden gibt es weiterhin, was auch zur Debatte stand.

Was ich sagen möchte: Abwarten! Nicht immer so hektisch mit Buzzwords arbeiten, nur weil man ein paar spärliche Specs erhalten hat, und eben nicht vorverurteilen, ohne die genauen Fakten (mit gründlicher Analyse des Geräts) zu haben.

Was man allerdings thematisieren sollte, ist, ob ggf. das #GooglePixel 10, das mehr Leistung bietet und zur oberen Klasse zählt, für nur einen relativ geringen Aufpreis von derzeit 30-50 Euro im Vergleich zum Pixel 10a doch empfehlenswerter wäre (Media Markt → 10a → 550 € und Mindfactory → 10 → 580 €).

I've been using this #pixel6pro all day every day since I bought it refurbished 3 years ago next month. The 1st thing I did with it was install #grapheneos and that's the 1st thing I'll do after putting on a screen protector when I receive the #pixel9a I just ordered. I would've used the old one to the end if I hadn't cracked the screen!

I suspect my next phone will be the 2nd or 3rd version of #gos's own, but either way I plan to keep my other key phone-freeing parts: #jmpchat and #snikket.

So.. Kengo's new backseat cover has been sitting unopened for a couple of days. I finally got my behind up to install it. The instructions with photos aren't clear enough. Also, I had to crawl into the tight space in the backseat fastening all the belts etc. It's exhausting for an old man. I still don't know if I did it right 🤔

Just flashed my #pixel7 with the stock #PixelOS to sell it. The process was... surprisingly painless. I just had to plug it in to my new #pixel9a via a USB cable and follow the instructions on the #google's #android flasher page. I was worried I would have to do some weird sorcery with my #thinkpad T480 to get the USB-C port to work... Well, that's one thing outta the way!
