On the evening of October 7, 2024, forewarned by my app, I set off to the beach near Wustrow to watch the Northern Lights. The clouds were a bit of a spoilsport but I don't want to complain ;-) And this night really was just a foretaste of what was to come on 11.10.2024.

Had a perfect night yesterday and took this awesome picture of a #auroraborealis. Picture is taken in north east germany.
Went out to take pictures of the perseides meteors but well you see how this went down.

aurora borealis - picture taken in northern germany

Gestern nacht habe ich vergeblich auf Polarlichter gewartet. Es gab aber dafür eine schöne Stimmung mit dem aufgehenden Mond und etwas, nur auf dem Foto sichtbaren Polarlicht an Horizont. /

Last night, I was waiting in vain for the Northern Lights. But there was a beautiful atmosphere with the rising moon and some faint Northern Lights visible only in the photo on the horizon.

Im late! But today's polar light is not so good and seeable like yesterday... I did my best though. :smug:

I found some #Polarlight in #cologne. Not very clear, but pretty much straight overhead. It's a bit difficult to see with all the other light, though.
