It is widely known, IMO, that #Meta is even selling customer data as part of its business model.
This is probably the only thing I agree with with #TFG!
#Facebook is, indeed, an "enemy of the people": of #democracy, which it destroys not last by fomenting hate and selling voter data, and of its users, whose data it harvests.

However, the more warrants and seizures or leak of #Meta data (#ProjectAnalyticaSummit) become public knowledge, the more I see the willingness to switch.
Also, many people in many countries are afraid of right-wing government takeovers. This, in combination with "#ChatControl discussions in the #EU, in particular #France, will provide possibilities.
I agree with @nf3xn's assessment, would phrase it differently, though:
#Meta (#Facebook) and #X(#Twitter) are complicit in trying to influence the electorate of Western democracies.
They are financed in part by money from authoritarian governments (e.g. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and China.) If you count in ads, Russia as well, of course.

I'm not using #Meta products. However, some people want to leave #WhatsApp w/ their convos intact, so maybe the short backup to #Google might B a data-migration path/exit strategy 4 them?
I often use an offline tool 2 search for things in my SMS database 2 amend calendar entries.
Many others use #WhatsApp instead, ignoring the massive data leaks. #ProjectAnalyticaSummit and the massive hand-overs of personal data 2 US government agencies like the FBI.

The urgency to do something about #SocialMedia #regulation is even greater, as in the wake of the #ProjectAnalyticaSummit it now turns out that the #CambridgeAnalytica #DataLeak was just the tip of the #iceberg.
To remedy this, only a shutdown of #Facebook seems to be the cure.
#NationalizeFacebook is no solution, as governments should not hold this amount of information about their citizens:
