Ok. Sieht echt so aus, als hätte das letzte Update die #quest2 gebricked.
Problem ist bekannt, Lösung gibt's bisher nicht und meta hilft auch nicht wirklich, wenn eins aus der Garantie ist.
Aber weil das mit dem VR doch ganz nett ist, wir schon eine ganze Menge Spiele da gekauft haben und die Quest auch am Rechner gut funktioniert, wirds wohl doch eine 3s als Nachfolger werden müssen.

Kind of sad how #Valve's own #VR hardware, the #ValveIndex, still has rather terrible #Linux support: 5 years after release there is no support for the HMD's cameras, the base stations won't turn off automatically and it is not possible to update their firmware. At least audio is working without messing around. Had some fun playing #HalfLife2VR when #SteamVR did not crash. At least my experience was better than trying the #Quest2 on Linux a while ago...

Still, it looks like I gotta fix or reinstall my #Windows11 partition (which remained broken for around 1 1/2 years) to get a proper VR experience. 🥲

If anyone's seen anything about manually driving a quest2 display with a lvds or mipi board or anything in that general direction, let me know?

I've taken apart the quest, and I think the direction I'll head in is sensors and driving the display directly.

If the parts exist. I don't wanna microsolder a solution. 😬 I don't think I can.

I tried to set up my #Quest2 with #SteamVR at a local game shop, so I could play-test there, but after like 4 hours I still couldn't get it to not run like shit on their hardware. #PCVR has always had a large technical barrier, but #Google just doesn't work now, so I don't know how to overcome it anymore.

Just finished playing the Crystal Hunt story for Blade & Sorcery for #VR #Quest2. I love the build up of the story but the ending was a very big let down. Kinda disappointed right now about it.
